The tertiary education sector is competitive, dynamic, multi-layered and globally focussed and new leadership literacies draw on the leader’s ability to build strong relationships, know themselves and their people well, and, lead with vision and strategy.   These times call for new ways of doing business, not more of the same things that are not working.
 
This residential program is for Executive Leaders in the tertiary education sector (including tertiary administrators and academics in Australia and New Zealand) who lead Divisions, Faculties, Departments, etc.

This Executive Masterclass has four foci:

Reflect, Recharge, Renew (built in to the whole residential program)
Values, Vision and Valour (led by Deborah Nanschild)
Engage, Empower, Enlighten (led by Heather Davis), and
Focus, inFluence and Futures (led by Maree Conway)

Registration Fee GST (incl) and includes 2 night's 4 star accommodation, meals, refreshments, ‘Windows in Workplace Values’ Personal Profile.

Full fee: $2500 ($2300 for ATEM Members).

About the Main Presenters

Heather Davis at Waypoint Consulting is pleased to present and manage this year's Executive Leadership Masterclass for ATEM Inc.   Heather is an Associate Fellow of ATEM Inc and has a long held interest in leadership, staff and organisational development for the knowledge era.   Heather has more than 10 years experience in the tertiary education sector as a former Research & Doctoral Studies Manager, librarian and sessional lecturer in Information Management.   Heather holds a BBus (RMIT), a Master of Professional Education & Training (Deakin) and is currently enrolled in a PhD with the School of Management at RMIT.

Heather will lead the "Engage | Empower| Enlighten" Masterclass session on Day 2.

Deborah Nanschild (www.leadershipexcellence.com.au)

Deborah is a Leadership, Management and Education Consultant with 30 years experience in private enterprise, universities, communities and the public sector.   She is highly innovative and creative with an extraordinary breadth of life experience and who can focus on the possibilities that lie ahead for organisations and their people.   Deborah's commitment to lifelong learning and leadership that accelerates human potential underlies her outstanding ability to motivate people and her capacity to implement theory into best practice, which she does with individuals, teams and organisations.  

Deborah has received numerous awards including an Award of Merit from the Prime Minister for her innovative programs, project management and business solutions.   Deborah is currently writing her PhD thesis on the implications of values based leadership development for Australian organisations through Deakin University.   She also holds a Masters Degree, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Teaching and outdoor leadership qualifications.

Deborah will lead the "Values | Vision| Valour| " Masterclass session on Day 1.

Maree Conway (www.thinkingfutures.net)

Maree Conway runs Thinking Futures, a collaborative consulting practice that helps people think long term and to use that thinking to build stronger strategy.   Maree works primarily with people in educational and non-profit organisations who are ready to move beyond business-as-usual thinking to build robust and sustainable strategy for the future.

Her expertise is focused around strategy development and implementation, and the use of futures approaches to strengthen strategic thinking. Maree helps people challenge their current thinking paradigms and see beyond the constraints of today to build strong futures for themselves and their organisations.

Before establishing Thinking Futures, Maree had a successful career as a tertiary education manager for almost 30 years, working in policy, planning and strategy roles in both faculties and university contexts. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University, a Masters in Educational Administration (Honours) from the University of New England, and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Foresight from Swinburne University of Technology.

Maree will lead the "Focus | inFluence | Futures" Masterclass session on Day 3.
